About Wickford Books

The Great War of 1914-1918

The war fought in the air during the Great War of 1914-1918 has attracted the serious and dedicated interest of many people over the years, years that have seen the emergence of many historians whose dedication to their particular subject has resulted in work of considerable historical value.

I have established Wickford Books to give these historians the opportunity to publish their work; work that is often not acceptable to commercial publishers by virtue of its specialised subject or length. The aim of Wickford Books is to publish high quality original works that will appeal to both the aviation enthusiast and the general public. With your valued support I’m sure that aim can be realised.

Our Policy

Our aim is to commission and publish well researched books of fine quality. Generally, books will be either soft or hard back. The format will vary, depending on the subject and length of the book. Books will be printed on 130gsm Novatech silk or gloss art paper. Softback covers, in full colour, will be of 350gsm Novatech gloss art (silk paper), laminated to finish. Books will be shipped in stout packaging to ensure pristine condition.
